The New Normal for Wine Tasting
by Catalina Perez & Jesse Malvesti

The topic on everyone's mind here in wine country and elsewhere seems to be Covid19. The past month has been a tipping point for our industry along with many others as tasting rooms shuttered, schools closed, and many events were cancelled. We could not have expected the level of support that we have received from club members & friends in light of these trying times. We really do appreciate all of you! Please keep the photos on social media coming, we love to see what you are drinking!
We want you to rest assured that we're doing everything possible to keep the wine flowing! Vineyard operations, winery productions and shipping will continue as we navigate through the next few weeks along with all of you. Fortunately Sonoma County wineries are allowed to continue with minimum basic operations under the Shelter in Place mandate, including shipping wine. We are following the CDC's COVID-19 response guidelines for businesses. Our employees are washing their hands prior to packing, practicing social distancing while working, wearing masks, and sanitizing surfaces regularly. They are currently working limited hours, so this wine club is going to take a little longer to get out than in the past - we appreciate your patience!

Since you can’t visit the winery right now, it’s not a problem! Settle in and read Dave's Diary at https://coffaro.com/diary.html. You will feel as if you are sitting down for a glass of wine with him in his kitchen -  any day of the week.

2017 Zinfandel (10 or 16 months)
Our classic Old Vine Zinfandel boasts a bright crimson hue. On the nose, concentrated aromas of blackberry meld with clove and a cedar spice. Lush flavors of blackberry jam and dried plums flood the palate, followed by touches of white pepper in the background. Plush round tannin and great length make for a fresh and enticing finish.
Enjoy with: red wine brownies. Trust us, it's a match made in Zin heaven!

2017 Estate Cuvée (10 or 16 months)
The Estate Cuvée is rich and luxurious, featuring a deep ruby color and aromas of raspberry, and black pepper with subtle notes of vanilla and spice. The additions of Cabernet & Petite Sirah give depth of  flavor with a hint of velvety oak that lengthens the finish.
Enjoy with grilled or braised beef dishes, or try a Mexican style molé.
2017 Petite Sirah (16 months)
With aromas of toasted marshmallow and toasty oak, this wine exhibits flavors of dried fig, black cherry and a hint of bourbon barrel vanilla. Our Petite Sirah is rich, full-bodied and deeply satisfying! Dense, concentrated, and even chewy, this full-bodied wine is a show-stopper, from the deep dark chocolate and blackberry jam flavors to the rich, almost thick texture. Its firm tannin structure is offset by the perfect balance of acidity & fruit.
Enjoy alongside a marinated skirt steak with grilled fingerling potatoes

DAVE'S WINE CLUB EXCLUSIVE - this 16-month aging was never offered on Futures
2017 Terre Melange (16 months)
An extra six months in oak, made with the Wine Club in mind, this '17 vintage of our Rhone-style blend shows opulent texture, strong acidity, and savory qualities that linger on the finish. This food friendly blend starts off with some astringency but opens up beautifully.
Enjoy with a Mediterranean style pizza featuring tomato, artichoke hearts, feta & fresh oregano.
2018 Carignan (10 months)
Our 100% Carignan is always bright and beautifully balanced, and this new vintage is no exception! Raspberries and cherries lead the way, followed by baking spices and smooth light tannins. This delightfully easy-drinking varietal is a sure bet to please every palate.
Enjoy with grilled pork kabobs slathered in chimichurri sauce
2018 RaiZin (10 months)
This will be our very last vintage of this blend bearing the RaiZin label. From 2019 and beyond, look for it as the "Block 6 Zin." A classic blend of young Zin vines and hearty Petite Sirah, this RaiZin is rich and layered with just the right amount of acidity. Blackberries lead the flavor profile and the oak takes a backseat to this medium-bodied, juicy wine.
Enjoy alone, or with dry-rubbed salmon tacos with tomatillo avocado slaw
